Southern Breeze's Springmingle '06 included an Author's Day at Gulf
Shores Elementary School: Hurricane's Ivan and Katrina had recently
blown through Orange Beach, AL damaging homes, schools, and lives.
The children who'd survived nature at it's worst were treated to a day of
fun, stories, crafts and magic!  Enjoy the following pictures.
(left & below) Robyn Hood Black's first graders were enchanted
with dragon stories and surprise characters.  They also sang
romping cowboy songs and saw how stories are made.  You may
be looking at future Authors.
(below) Paula Puckett's second graders buzzed and crowed during an
interactive, wiggly, fun story! Let's see the crafty animals those kids
created!  You may be looking at future Art Teachers, Set Designers
and Graphic Artists or better yet - picture book illustrators!
(below & left) Donna Bowman's 3rd grade class heard a nutty
story and witnesses natures' good side - glittering gems and
fossils. (Student holding 85,000,000 year old T-Rex tooth.)  And
yes - those kids had magic in them!  You may be looking at
future paleontologists and magicians.
