Robyn Hood Black (yes, that’s her real name) is the author WOLVES, a nonfiction, interactive
book to be released by Dalmatian Press/Intervisual Books in Fall 2008, and Sir Mike, a Rookie
Reader from Scholastic’s Children’s Press.

Her poetry has been accepted for future publication in Spider and Hopscotch, and her fiction has
been bought by Highlights.

In addition to writing and drawing, Robyn loves to visit young readers in schools.  She also enjoys
learning and sharing about all-things-kids-books through the Society of Children’s Book Writers and
Illustrators (SCBWI).

A cum laude graduate of Furman University with a degree in English, Robyn’s work history
includes newspaper and magazine writing, drawing, waiting tables, working in an art gallery, helping
to run a therapeutic horsemanship program, and some boring office jobs.  She also taught middle
school English for two years.

Robyn lives in the foothills of northeast Georgia with her husband, two teenagers, and an assortment
of dogs and cats.

She is a grateful, active member in the Southern Breeze region of SCBWI and is the Spring
Conference Coordinator (2007, 2008, and 2009).  Her buddies in Book Bound Writers and
Illustrators Group provide great feedback, support, and really yummy snacks.  A new children’s
illustrators critique group also provides support and inspiration.
