On 10/27/05, Book Bounders delivered 200 SCBWI
comfort kits for Hurricane Katrina victims to
Gainesville Red Cross Director, Cheryl Vandiver.

On 10/18/05, 100 comfort kits were also delivered
to Pastor Paco Alvarado of Christ Fellowship
Church located in The Father's House in
Dawsonsville.  Christ Fellowship Church provided
shelter to 100 hurricane evacuees, primarily single
mothers and
their children.

Kits included:
Several new children's books, a flashlight, a toy or
stuffed animal, and a toothbrush/ toothpaste set
tucked into a tote bag.

Kits for children ages 3-8 include picture books
and a new stuffed animal.
Kits for children ages 8-12 include chapter
books/novels and an
age-appropriate toy.

SCBWI provided the 2000 tote bags, toothbrush sets and
flashlights.  SCBWI members donated new books and new
toys/stuffed animals.
