Donna has canoed through alligator-infested swamps, tracked 800-pound bear in the Poconos,
and even ventured through a few kids rooms (gasp!) in search of unusual stories.

BIG CATS, Donna’s first book, will be released in June of 2008 by Dalmatian Press. BIG
CATS, part of a nonfiction series of vault books for ages 10 and up, is beautifully illustrated by
Christina Wald
www.christinawald.com. Highlights Magazine for Children purchased her poem
UP AND DOWN and her nonfiction picture book manuscript, TINY FLIPPERS/FIRST STEPS,
won 2nd place in the Southern Breeze ’07 writing contest.

Articles and photographs by Donna have appeared in the P
eterson Journal for Teaching Nature
Education
(Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History), and the Dawson Community
News
. Her children’s book manuscripts include picture books (in rhyme and prose/fiction and
nonfiction), middle grade nonfiction-photo essays, biographies, and reference books. Topics
include space travel, science, nature, exocentric children and even flying frogs. (They’re said to
be a
spectacular sight!)

Donna’s performances, suitable for elementary school-aged children, at bookstores, elementary
schools, libraries, and museums, include:

Big Cats - Journey around the world to discover fascinating secrets of these elusive, endangered
creatures. Find out how the book BIG CATS was made and set your eyes on a fossilized skull of
a sabertoothed cat (one of Donna’s prized possessions)!

Treasure Hunting - Gaze upon a traveling museum of fossils, gems and minerals, including a
fossilized T-Rex tooth, dinosaur bones, a tennis shoe sized woolly mammoth tooth, rough and cut
gemstones, minerals WE EAT, and much more!
Treasure Hunting dovetails with Georgia’s third
grade curriculum.
